New episode of First Site podcast released

A new episode of First Site, Construction News’ monthly podcast sponsored by equipment-hire specialist Speedy Hire, was released this morning (20 September).

To coincide with the release of our latest annual CN100 index of top-performing UK contractors*, CN deputy editor Ben Vogel is joined by two experts to discuss financial and economic issues facing the construction sector.

Max Jones, a director in Lloyds Bank’s infrastructure and construction team, and Leighton More, chief financial officer at Sir Robert McAlpine, discuss some of the macroeconomic and sector-specific pressures affecting contractors.

They also evaluate the current economic climate for construction and assess the near-term prospects for the construction sector as it faces a difficult 2024.
